Site Terms and Conditions

By entering the site, you indicate that you understand, respect and accept the terms set out below, and agree to be bound by them.

Creative Commons Licence for Reuse of Content

The copyright to all photographic images and writing is owned solely by Ken Scott Photography, except where expressly credited to someone else. That means that nothing on the site is free for you to use entirely as you wish.

However, you are welcome to share, copy or distribute content images or text displayed in public galleries under the terms of a Creative Commons by-nc-nd Licence 3.0. The licence requires that you must attribute the work exactly as we describe below, you may not use the work for any commercial purposes, and you must not alter, transform, or build upon the work in any way.

Our choice of a CC Licence for this work is a concession to common sense. Please do not abuse the privilege in any way. We reserve the right to withdraw permission where we believe the reuse is inappropriate or likely to mislead or cause offence.

All rights to images and text displayed in client galleries are owned and reserved solely by Ken Scott Photography and are NOT shareable under the CC licences.

Reuse of Stylesheets and Markup

This website has been designed using open source css and markup templates supplied by Styleshout, and they may be freely reused under the original terms. However, all rights to header and brand images used in this derivative work are owned and reserved solely by Ken Scott Photography and are not shareable under the CC Licences.

Attribution

  1. Please credit images as follows: Photo ©Ken Scott Photography, www.touchingthelight.co.uk.
  2. Please credit text as follows: Quote the excerpt in your passage and credit Scott[date] with the full page URL in your references or footnotes.
  3. Please provide a reciprocal link taking your visitor to http://www.touchingthelight.co.uk/ from your page on which the image or text is displayed.
  4. Please credit third-party images in exactly the way as they appear on this site.
  5. I would also appreciate an email to let me know how the material has been used, because I am geniuinely interested.

Hot Linking

You must download images or text excerpts (or ask me for a copy) and serve them from your own web servers; YOU MUST NOT HOT LINK i.e. link directly to any image. Apart from being very bad form on the web, it uses our site's traffic / bandwidth allowance and not your own, and is tantamount to theft since we pay for it.

We reserve the right to invoice at full commercial rates if a request to remove a hot link is ignored.

Other Permissions

For use which is or appears to be for commercial purposes, or for any use other than that described above, you must get express permission first. We think this is fair, reasonable and plain to understand. If you are in any doubt, email us first; don't just do it because we will find out and will take remedial action.

We reserve the right to invoice at full commercial rates for unauthorised commercial use.

Images and text in printed or electronic form, and/or rights for publication in print or on commercial sites are available for purchase by arrangement.
